Chapter 113: Becoming Your God (XVI)
The four gods felt distress in their hearts. Their souls shivered from the aura of the War God. Their previous resolve weakened under the War God’s powerful stance.
They all assumed that the War God in this period of peace would become less powerful. However, they realized how wrong their assumption was when faced with his power. The War God had powerful combative force and worldly defense skills. When he reached his breaking point, then no god could escape without any injuries.
All four gods each belonging to fire, water, earth, and dreams were trapped by the War God. Their bodies were paralyzed without any means to escape. They watched Saya’s unmoving body and didn’t dare to make a sound.
It was at this moment that Saya lifted his head so suddenly. The originally fixed air rapidly surged and the four gods were sent reeling backwards as if they had been attacked. It was to their horror that they discovered they’d been sealed inside and were unable to escape no matter how much they tried.
‘They were all sealed? This was impossible! The War God shouldn’t be able to seal four ancient gods all together!’
It was true that Saya was unable to seal all of the four gods at one time. However, he could temporarily restrain them and then seal them later one after the other.
Saya only wanted to vent his anger in some way by making the four gods who persecuted Uno pay for what they had done.
Saya felt like causing a war which affected the minds of his followers. They all subconsciously felt that desire to fight which could probably lead to a future war.
【Why are you sending me away?】Saya remembered his first meeting with Uno in Cannes City.
【I was defeated by you yet I still had the courage to come here. Why don’t you have the courage to let me stay here?】 Shang Ke had confidently requested despite being his former enemy.
【I spent more than a thousand years alone in a dilapidated temple. Can I at least have a chance to change myself? .】
He had changed for the better, but there was no god willing to let him have that second chance.
Saya placed the mask on top of his forehead in an attempt to quell his anger.
After a bit of time, he gazed ahead with an indifferent expression in his eyes. He straightened himself up with his robes billowing around him before he disappeared to the Temple of Uno.
Uno had only been sealed. His strength would be enough to release him. However, he discovered that there wasn’t any trace of Uno inside the statue.
‘Where did Uno go?’ Saya rapidly moved around, using his powers to locate Uno’s spirit. However, he ended up with nothing.
If he hadn’t been sealed, then the only other possibility could have been… that the god had fallen….
‘No!’
Saya’s body quivered and his eyes darkened with the desire for war surging up inside of him. He was unable to control himself when he thought about Uno disappearing from this world. His almighty divine powers recklessly surged in all directions like a storm brewing.
The Gods who had just gotten over their fear now felt terrified by the War God once again.
‘Holy fuck! Which fool was deliberately provoking the War God?!’
“Uno….” Saya rested a hand over his forehead. His face was twisted with an expression that appeared as if needles were stabbing him. His mind flashed with countless confusing images.
‘…. Little Ze…. Flames…. Filmore….’
Saya felt as if he were several different people at that moment. Each of the people represented a beautiful but painful memory. While the memories were not clear, he felt extreme pain in his heart.
The other gods fearfully hid themselves from the angry War God.
“The four gods belonging to fire, water, earth, and dreams are never allowed to step foot into my territory ever again.”
Saya decided to prevent the four gods from having an existence in his realm instead of sealing them. Therefore, there was no way for their followers to receive their blessings nor could the four gods receive any strength from their followers. The only way the exchange could happen is if both the gods and their followers left the city or if they had enough power to compete with the War God.
The Imperial Yi Empire was a vast territory with a large population scattered all over who worshipped the War God. His influence did not pertain to the remote and barren areas.
The four gods were miserable after the War God had banished them. They would not have acted in such an impetuous manner if they knew how much the War God valued the Evil God.
However, the four gods still had to deal with the Death God as the time limit for their deal was arriving. The War God had imprisoned them for ten days before they were expelled out of his realm. The sacrifices they had promised the Death God were now being protected by the War God. If they wanted to avoid being chased down by the Death God, then they would need to get their hands dirty. It was unfortunate that neither the Death God nor the War God could be easily provoked.
What Uno had said before being sealed was that they’d all regret what they had done. This ended up happening.
How could they forget that the Evil God not only specialized in killing but cursing as well? They didn’t realize that cursing would be effective on gods as well!
The four gods wanted to quell the War God’s anger by unsealing the Evil God which was easy to do for the one that sealed him. However, they became fearful when they discovered that they couldn’t find the Evil God’s spirit. Was it possible that both his body and soul had been destroyed?
‘That was impossible! How could it be that the Evil God was so easily defeated by them?’
If it were the past, then they would have jumped for joy at the Evil God’s demise. However, they had no way of escaping the War God in the present.
The four gods felt like crying till they died. This was especially because they would have to face the mocking Death God who would come to receive compensation for the debt they had caused him.
They had no other way to resolve this but to offer the Death God the followers of the minor gods as payment. Since the Evil God had more than 3000 followers, this was the amount they needed to give up.
The gods weren’t in the position where they could directly take advantage of their believers. It was soon after that the four gods started sacrificial ceremonies outside the War God’s territory. They bewitched mortals to kidnap other mortals without reason as they prepared to hold a complete sacrificial ceremony at the appointed time limit of their deal.
There were relatives and friends of various mortals that were captured. They all prayed for the gods to extend a helping hand. However, these minor gods were afraid to offend the four gods belonging to fire, water, earth, and dreams. They also were afraid to request for help from the War God who was full of anger. Therefore, they could only remain silent to these pleas for help.
These worshippers then sought help from the worshippers of other gods only to receive a refusal. Their own god had abandoned them and the only ones willing to help them was the Evil God’s worshippers whom everyone had once scorned.
While Yitamo decided on sending troops to resolve the situation, his parents vehemently opposed his decision, refusing to give him a single soldier. The captured victims didn’t belong to the Imperial Yi Empire nor were they their allies. There wasn’t any need for the Imperial Yi Empire to intervene in these affairs and extend the help of their troops for them.
Yitamo was determined to get involved as the troublemakers were worshippers of the four gods. He not only wanted to save the victims, but he also wanted to take revenge for Uno. While the rest of the world had no clue about Uno being sealed by the four gods, Love God Neil had told him the truth of this matter.
Yitamo ended up deciding on taking a few hundred soldiers to the remote foreign land. When he left the gate, he noticed that the Shu Clan was waiting for him outside. With Tima leading, there were nearly a hundred of the Shu Clan’s strongest members who wanted to join Yitamo.
The Shu Clan had reaffirmed their faith, but the four gods had taken away the god they were willing to devote their lives to. They all felt enough hatred towards the four gods which could only be resolved with spilled blood.
There were hundreds of people that rushed to the ritual’s site day and night. They arrived just in time for the sacrificial ritual.
In the river’s clearing, there were thousands of people that were tied to wooden stakes. They all looked scrawny and roughed up. The gloomy scene was filled with alarming cries and shrieks.
They were surrounded by a bunch of ferocious looking men. There were four thousand of them that were either carrying torches and long whips or axes and knives.
Yitamo and the others covered themselves in the bushes and they all had to take a double take of the scene in front of them with chills running through their spines. Even hundreds of them would not be enough to take on the group in front of them. They all received information that there were a dozen civilians imprisoned by a few hundred people. However, it now appeared to be a combined operation involving many groups.
Yitamo grinded his teeth together with the intent to give up on their previous strategy of just attacking the other group. He thought about waiting for another opportunity to ambush the other group. However, there were some that couldn’t handle watching the scene of the men lighting up firewood stacks for the first sacrifice so they jumped out of the bushes.
Their loved ones were being persecuted and treated like sacrifices. Even though they shouldn’t be impulsive, how was it possible for them to remain calm seeing the awful scene that unfolded before them?
When Yitamo saw how the situation was getting out of control, he grabbed his weapons and bravely rushed out to lead his troops and the Shu Clan to fight.
The enemy was stunned at first to see the hundreds of people coming out of the woods, but they ended up gathering their members to violently meet them head-on. They were all strong and powerful so it was obvious that they would not be easy to deal with.
If you excluded the hundreds of troops on Yitamo’s side that already knew how to fight, the rest of the group would be sending themselves to their deaths.
The wicked men were unable to contain their excitement like a pack of hungry wolves with green glowing eyes. It appeared as if they could already imagine the bloody scenes that would occur. However, they missed the red flash of light that emitted from the bodies of their opponents.
As they two sides clashed their weapons, the wicked men were shocked by the unexpected slaughtering that occurred. There were hundreds of people that plowed through them like a sharp knife. They pummeled through thousands of the worshippers of the four gods. They chaotically slashed around in a manner as if they were recent visitors to the territory.
Yitamo and the others with him fought back as if a god had possessed them. They were heroic and invincible. There were even a few scrawny teenagers who fought back beyond their expected capabilities. Among the group, the Shu Clan members fought back with their weapons in the most impressive manner. They managed to kill several enemies that were stronger than them with swift and savage moves. The howls of pain and scattered blood increased wherever they moved to.
The strange scene of a thousand burly men running away from the hundreds of soldiers and peasants chasing them around the mountain suddenly occurred.
The Evil God’s approach to slaughter was unbeatable.
The Evil God’s believers all led by Yitamo felt his power. The dozens of people who did not worship him all felt pleasure from murder.
‘Their god had not disappeared. Instead, he had been secretly protecting them all this while!’
Yitamo and the others with him felt motivated by this and their morale received a boost. However, the wicked men felt weaker and weaker until they were unable to lift their weapons.
Fear filled them and they panicked, fleeing away from them in different directions as they shouted, “Demons! Demons!”
As Yitamo with the others felt victorious and cheered, Shang Ke was confronted by the four gods who felt scared by his appearance.
The Evil God hadn’t disappeared nor was he sealed. Instead, he was hiding in the shadows waiting for the opportune moment to take revenge against them.
“Uno, you’re a bastard that only knows how to hide! Come out now!” The Fire God furiously called out.
“I was always here.” The faint sound of a voice sounded out from the middle of the altar. A blurry figure appeared on top of the wooden stake with one knee crossed and another knee bent. One hand rested on his knee while the other hand held onto a stone hammer.
“You…. You’re Unos?” The Fire God felt confused when he looked at Shang Ke whose dark hair gently billowed with the wind. The face hidden by the mask revealed an alluring image, and his deep dark eyes felt like a ray of sunshine. It was as if you were surrounded by nature where you felt the need to relax and indulge in the warmth surrounding you.
The Fire God felt like he understood the true definition of a god when he saw him. That definition was to be beautiful, noble, and powerful. It was no wonder that the War God was obsessed with him. Who would have thought that the gloomy Evil God would have possessed such a dazzling presence?
‘Damn it! If only he’d shown his face earlier, then things would not have ended in this manner to the point where they were trapped with no solution. Since nothing had happened to Uno, then there might be a chance for them to repair their relationship with the War God.’
The Fire God forced out a smile after thinking of all this, “Uno, we only wanted to seal you for a few decades. However, we weren’t successful. Therefore, how about we call it even?”
“I don’t have any objections to this.” Shang Ke offered a faint smile.
The Fire God didn’t think that Shang Ke would be that easy to talk to. He was about to add in a few polite remarks before Shang Ke continued, “However, it appears that you won’t be unable to fulfill your deal with the Death God.”
The expressions on the faces of the four gods instantly changed when they realized that their sacrificial ceremony had been interrupted. The time limit of their deal with the Death God was rapidly approaching which meant that a terrible disaster awaited them if they couldn’t fulfill the deal.
“I already told you.” Shang Ke said, “You will all regret this.”
It was part of Shang Ke’s plan for them to break their deal with the Death God. Not only would he be able to rescue the mortals they wanted to sacrifice, but he could also teach them a lesson through the hands of the Death God. They would then hate him even more which would lead to his heroic death.
Just as he had predicted, he could see the four gods staring angrily at him when he finished speaking. Their powers violently surged and rushed towards him.
Shang Ke had used up his divine powers on Yitamo and the Shu Clan. He was terribly weak when all four gods ganged up on him. This made him float in the air like a boat battling the raging storm.
After Yitamo and the others had completed the battle which was deserving of great fanfare, they turned their heads to look at Shang Ke. They couldn’t help but shout out their cheers, “Victory to Uno!”
“Victory to Uno!”
It wasn’t only the worshippers of the Evil God but the other mortals joined in as well. It didn’t matter how terrible the Evil God was previously because he was the only god who helped lead them to victory when the other gods had deserted them. He ended up saving their lives.
The sounds of the cheers were powerful like a tsunami. They felt immense joy and respect for their God Uno.
Yitamo suddenly realized that Shang Ke’s body was becoming transparent almost to the point of disappearing. This became apparent to the others as well as they stopped cheering and became silent.
They all looked at Shang Ke on top of the altar with anxious expressions on their faces.
While everyone was at a loss, four faint figures made their appearance by surrounding Shang Ke in a hostile manner.
Although it was hard to see who they were, Yitamo, the Shu Clan, and the others quickly discerned them to be the four gods belonging to fire, water, earth, and dreams. ‘Did they dare to hurt their god? It would be a battle of four against one!’
The people grabbed their weapons in a fit of anger and threw them towards the four gods. They then threw stones followed by balls of dirt. Even though it was useless, they still did these things anyways.
They didn’t notice that the enemy group they had defeated now appeared once again after noticing that the four gods had reappeared. They had plans to ambush them.
When Shang Ke noticed this, a dark-colored light shone across his eyes before turning into a ball that quietly rushed towards the evil men.
It was during this period of time that his body was turning more transparent.
There was a sudden cry of anguish which shocked the angry crowd. They turned around to discover that their enemies had reappeared. However this time, there were some that had fallen unconscious and others that were murdering the others.
“It’s… a curse. ” Yitamo’s eyes shone brightly as he muttered this.
The power behind the curse was mysterious and obscure.
The slaughter and curses that belonged to the Evil God were not exactly representative of destruction and disaster. What mattered was whether the god who used it had a pure heart or not.
Despite being in danger, he was willing to use the remaining power he had on mortals. Yitamo had never heard of a god like him before. The infamous Evil God was actually a kind one. He had been misunderstood by the world for thousands of years just because he was an Evil God.
Yitamo looked at Shang Ke who was becoming more transparent. His eyes shone brightly as he thought to himself, ‘Uno, I will honor your name, eulogize about your virtue, and preach your teachings for the rest of my life!’
Shang Ke’s powers were almost depleted which meant that he would dissipate soon. Even though death was approaching, he held no fear.
That’s because he was here.
A familiar spirit tightly clung to the last remnants of his soul.
Shang Ke’s faint consciousness allowed him to see the four gods suddenly disappear in front of his eyes before he descended into oblivion….
【The main task has been completed which was to receive recognition from the War God Saya.】
Shang Ke found himself in a loop while mildly conscious. When he woke up, he was naked while lying against Saya’s naked body. The position appeared to be the same one on repeat with the only changes being the environment, season, and occasional position changes.
He didn’t have the energy to think about anything else. This was because he would spend three to five minutes awake with Saya who took advantage of him without hesitation.
He felt as if it would be peaceful to live in this way forever. There would be no missions, no deaths, and no separations. If Saya didn’t mind how long he slept for, then he was willing to spend his entire life with him.
Shang Ke knew that the goal was to complete three separate tasks. However, there strangely weren’t any additional missions upon the completion of the main mission.
He assumed that he would be like this forever. However, he opened his eyes to see the world again upon his ninth-ninth awakening.
The Evil God’s mask was crushed into powder right before Saya’s eyes. The statues of both the War God and the Evil God suddenly cracked and they fell together while embracing.
In the System Space.
“What’s happening?” Shang Ke brought up the System to answer his question. ‘Why hadn’t there been any missions following the main mission? Why did Saya die together with him?’
After a period of eerie silence, the System finally responded to him,【Congratulations to the Host for completion of the main mission which was to obtain Saya’s approval. The Cursed Halo will now disappear and an additional ten points will be added to each stat.】
“…. And?”
The System continued, 【The Host’s Constitution, Memory, Spiritual Power, and Beauty is at its maximum value. Therefore, the Host has unlocked trips to happiness. The Host has obtained 2 Return Cards. 】
Shang Ke asked, “What are return cards?”
【There are two return cards which will allow for the Host to return to the two worlds that you’ve been to before.】
Shang Ke looked surprised, “Wasn’t I required to complete all the missions before returning back?”
【If the host had completed all the missions while reaching a total of 50% or higher, then this would unlock the way to the real world. The Host can only return to two worlds that you’ve been to before as of right now. Therefore, you’re unable to return to the real world.】
Shang Ke was shocked at the sudden surprise and didn’t know how to respond.
【The host can also refuse the return cards..】 The System considerately offered him another option after noticing his silence.
“No, I would like to return back!” How could Shang Ke refuse this rare opportunity?
【Then, is the Host prepared to return back? 】
“Wait a minute.” Shang Ke quickly asked, “I already died in both of those worlds. Will I return as a different identity or will I be required to die once again?”
【The return card could be the key to the journey of happiness. The host will continue his life from where he left from. The death you went through won’t repeat again.】
‘Did that mean that he could live a long happy life with his man?’ An expression containing both happiness and surprise appeared on Shang Ke’s face.
The System continued, 【Of course, if the Host courts death, then even the System would be unable to save you.】
Shang Ke thought to himself, ‘What the fuck? You’re talking as if you’ve rescued me before or something!’
【Are there any other questions the Host wants to ask?】 Shang Ke shook his head in refusal before floating cards immediately appeared before him. 【Please choose two world cards, Host.】
Shang Ke removed two cards. The previously blank cards immediately had words appear on them once he had picked them.
One card had the name “Jian Chengfeng.”
The other card had the name, “Tylor.”
Jian Chengfeng was from the second world. His mission in the second world involved his identity of Jiang Yumo pursuing his sister and eventually donating his heart to her. It was in this world that his feelings for Jian Chengfeng were unclear and vague. He didn’t seem to care after he died despite the fact that Jian Chengfeng had revealed his feelings for him. How did he feel after he had left that world?
Tylor was the one that he had met in the third world. He had been the Prince of the Holy Empire of Turan whereas Shang Ke had been the fallen devil apostle by the name of Osari. He participated in the mission of sealing the Devil’s Tree but ended up being stabbed by a traitor infected with devil Qi after sealing the tree.
Apart from Tylor, there was another person that was important to him. It was the adorable Pupu. He believed that Tylor would take care of Pupu as she would have been depressed over his death.
Shang Ke expectantly used the first return card to venture into a journey of happiness….

!!!!!! Why did saya die? 🙁 what a cliffhanger
i rly cried when i read that line about their statues falling together :(((( why is the author so cruel to give us hope like this and then take it away :((( waiting patiently for the return card to this world :((
tysm for the upd8!! ig i have to go reread earlier arcs to remember what happened then and get attached LOL
Omw, I love this series. Thank u so much!! ❤️❤️
First slighly better ending I suppose? No unresolved feelings + a considerable length of time they spent together and they both died at the same time too. Altho the reason why would bug the hell out of me for awhile. So excited for the revisit of the past worlds
It feels a little bit crazy for him to choose the second world right now, after all, if he hadn’t died then the sister wouldn’t have survived. Who knows, maybe they’ll find another heart donor, but those can be rare.
wohohoho, I knew it he’ll go back to tylor TT
yey!! return return return!!!
I’m so happy! I’ve never been contented on that two arcs ending…
Now he’s going back to Pupu, my lovely niece I will go see you again!
Why are the raws still there? Or is it just showing for me? Is there some kind of on or off button for that?
