Chapter 237: Back To That Key Moment ⑦

TL: Resonance

    尚可和陆修樊在霖德镇的第一周，辗转各个高级宾馆和特色民宿，收集了十几套具有纪念意义的的动态明信片，拍了数百张照片，到处都留下了两人的足迹。

During their first week in Linde Town, Shang Ke and Lu Xiufan moved about various hotels and special homestays, collected more than a dozen sets of commemorative dynamic postcards and took hundreds of photos, leaving their footprints everywhere.

    陆修樊正在一点点丰富他们的“宝箱”，竭尽所能不让这辈子留下任何遗憾。

Lu Xiufan was increasing the treasures in their “treasure chest” little by little, trying his best not to have any regrets in his life.

    两人一路携手来到沿河风光带，这里聚集了许多弹唱、画像、雕刻之类的闲散艺人，还有不少老人三五成群地聚在一起下棋聊天。

The two of them went hand in hand to a scenic area along the river which has many idle artists, such as singers, painters, and sculptors gathered, as well as many old people who gathered in groups to play chess and chat.

    尚可看了一会，突然对陆修樊说：“我们来比赛吧？”

After looking around for a while, Shang Ke suddenly said to Lu Xiufan, “Let’s have a match, shall we?”

    “比赛？比什么？”

“A match? On what?”

    尚可快走几步，站在广场中，双手摊开，如同展示世界一般：“看看今天谁能成为这里最耀眼的人。”

Shang Ke took a few quick steps and stood in the middle of the square, spreading his hands out as if he were showing the world: “Let’s see who can be the most dazzling person here today.” 

    陆修樊深深凝视他，在他眼中，没有人比他更耀眼。

Lu Xiufan gazed at him deeply. In his eyes, there was no one more dazzling than him.

    “好。”无所谓输赢，只为开心。

“Okay.” It didn’t matter whether he won or lost, he just wanted to be happy.

    陆修樊出身贵族，自有一股上位者的威严气势，走到哪里都是众人瞩目的焦点。为了掩饰他过于唬人的凌厉气场，尚可特意为他配了一副平光眼镜，换上一套休闲服饰，改扮之后，尚可只有两个字——鬼畜。

Lu Xiufan was from an aristocratic family, and had the majestic air of a superior. He was the focus of attention wherever he went. In order to conceal his overly fierce aura, Shang Ke deliberately matched him with a pair of glasses and let him change into a set of casual clothes. After the makeover, Shang Ke only had one word – ‘impactful’.

    有些人天生就没有可塑性，混演艺圈永远只能靠脸装逼。尚可绝对不承认是自己的塑形能力太差或者故意保留他的渣气。

Some people are not easy to restyle by nature and those in the entertainment circle can only make use of their face to pretend. Shang Ke will never admit that he is just bad at restyling someone or that he was deliberately trying to retain his scum aura.

    虽然改造不是很成功，但至少不会让人一眼退避了。

The makeover wasn’t very successful, but at least it no longer makes people retreat at first glance.

    陆修樊站在一群棋友中，高大挺拔的身形，让现场的气氛瞬间增加了几分肃杀之气，连正在对战的双方都感受到了来自外界的压力，一局臭棋竟然战出了大军压境的气势。

Lu Xiufan stood among a group of chess friends, and his tall and upright figure instantly added some murderous vibe to the atmosphere.  Even the opposing sides felt external pressure. It was just a round of chess, yet they felt the pressure of an army.

    看了几局之后，陆修樊直接摆出一枚限量版纪念金币，挑战这里的“棋王”。纪念金币的经济价值不过上万元，但数量稀少，极具收藏价值。

After watching a few games, Lu Xiufan directly took out a limited edition commemorative gold coin to challenge the “Chess King” of this place. The economic value of the gold coin was only around ten thousand yuan, but the coin was very rare and a great collectible.

    那位“棋王”见到这枚金币，果然爽快地接受了陆修樊的挑战。

When the “Chess King”’ saw the coin, he readily accepted Lu Xiufan’s challenge.

    两人旗鼓相当，布局精妙，优手频出，看得周围的棋友大感过瘾。

The two were well matched in strength, and they played a lot of excellent moves, which was very enjoyable to watch for the chess players around them.

    对局间，陆修樊习惯性抬头朝尚可刚才站立的位置望去，却发现他竟然不见了，心中一紧，倏地站起身，吓得众人纷纷向后退去。

In the middle of the game, Lu Xiufan habitually looked up towards where Shang Ke was standing just now, but found that he was gone. His heart grew anxious and he quickly stood up, causing the people to retreat backwards in shock.

    陆修樊的视线快速在四周扫过，虽然安排了卫兵在暗中保护，但见不到他的人影，心中总是不踏实。

Lu Xiufan’s eyes quickly swept around. Although he had arranged for guards to protect Shang Ke in secret, his heart would not be at ease if he could not see his figure.

    正在这时，不远处突然传来一阵悠扬的唢琴声（一种类似萨克斯的乐器），带着让人愉悦的节奏，缓缓飘入陆修樊的耳中。

At this moment, the melodious sound of Suoqin (an instrument similar to a saxophone) suddenly came from not far away, its pleasant rhythm slowly drifting into Lu Xiufan’s ears.

    他循声望去，在广场中的雕塑下，尚可正拿着一把唢琴，专心地吹奏着。白色的雕塑，飘扬的落叶，金色的乐器，优雅的演奏者……构成一副美丽的画面。

He looked towards the source of the sound. Under a sculpture in the square, Shang Ke was holding a Suoqin and playing it intently. The white sculpture, the falling leaves, the golden instrument, and the elegant player… formed a beautiful picture.

    周围的杂音仿佛都消失了，只剩下一个遥望爱人的痴汉。

It’s as if all the surrounding noises have disappeared, leaving only an idiot looking at his lover who was in the distance.

    “我说，你还下不下？”被无视的“棋王”大爷不爽了，敲着棋子打断陆修樊的思绪。

“Hey, are you still going to play?” The “Chess King” who got ignored was upset and interrupted Lu Xiufan’s thoughts by tapping his chess piece.

    陆修樊回过神，重新落座，继续对局。音乐声在耳边轻轻流淌，如同爱人的抚慰，陆修樊的棋路从步步杀机，逐渐变得捉摸不定，少几分肃杀，多了几分飘逸。画风骤然转变，反而让对手有些猝不及防。

Lu Xiufan came back to his senses, took his seat again and continued to play the game. The sound of music flowed softly in his ears like the comfort of his lover. Liu Xiufan’s chess moves gradually changed from step by step killing to becoming unpredictable. There was less ‘killing’ and more elegance.  The sudden change in style however caught the opponent off guard.

    在几番挣扎之下，“棋王”最后以半子惜败。与此同时，尚可的演奏也结束了。

After several rounds of struggling, the “Chess King” was defeated. At the same time, Shang Ke’s performance ended.

    陆修樊婉拒了“棋王”再战一局的要求，越过人群，正准备去找尚可，目光不经意瞥见旁边有人正在卖花，心中一动，顺手买了一朵玫瑰。

Lu Xiufan declined the “Chess King’s” request to play one more game, walked through the crowd. Just when he was on his way to find Shang Ke, he caught a glimpse of someone selling flowers nearby. A thought came to his mind and he bought a rose.

    陆修樊走到尚可金钱，将玫瑰递给他：“恭喜你演奏成功。”

Lu Xiufan walked up to Shang Ke and handed him the rose: “Congratulations on your successful performance.”

    尚可眼中带笑，将藏在身后的手露出来，手上同样也拿着一朵玫瑰：“恭喜你旗开得胜。”

With a smile in his eyes, Shang Ke revealed his hand hidden behind his back, also holding a rose in his hand: “Congratulations on your victory in chess.”

    两人站在广场中，各自拿着一朵玫瑰，温情地注视着彼此。这副画面，被一位摄影师准确捕捉，永远定格……

The two men stood in the square, each holding a rose, gazing at each other warmly. This image was accurately captured by a photographer and is forever frozen in the frame…

    最后，两人的比赛在无下限秀恩爱中结束，输赢根本没人在乎。

In the end, the two’s match ended under their unlimited show of affection, and no one cared whether they won or lost.

    “刚才你怎么确定那盘棋是我赢了？”用餐时，陆修樊突然问道。

“How were you sure that I won that game of chess?” During their meal, Lu Xiufan suddenly asked.

    “如果你输了，”尚可一边移动刀叉，一边回答，“你走路的姿势会比平时优雅。”

“If you have lost,” Shang Ke replied as he moved his knife and fork, “you’ll walk more gracefully than usual.”

    陆修樊：“我……平时走路不优雅？”

Lu Xiufan: “I… don’t walk gracefully usually?”

    “不是不优雅，而是心情越差、处境越恶劣时，你的优雅值越高。反而是心情极好时，经常会忘记礼仪。比如现在，”尚可用餐刀轻轻敲了敲杯子，“你的叉子叉走了我的里脊肉，你的左腿正在调戏我的右腿。”

“It is not that you don’t. It’s just that the worse your mood is or the worse the situation, the higher your graceful meter. On the other hand, when you’re in a good mood, you often forget the etiquette. For example, right now,” Shang Ke tapped his lightly glass with his dining knife, “your fork has taken away my tenderloin, and your left leg is molesting my right leg.”

    陆修樊：“……”证据确凿，他无力反驳。

Lu Xiufan: “…” The evidence is present and he is unable to refute it.

    正在两人一边用餐，一边互撩时，隔壁突然传来一个中年男人的调笑声：“你是守约人吧？真可怜，年纪小小就被父母送出来打工？”

While they were eating and flirting with each other, a middle-aged man’s joking voice suddenly sounded from the next table: “You’re a covenantor, aren’t you? What a pity, being sent out by your parents to work at such a young age?”

    “先生，您的餐点都上齐了，还有什么需要吗？”守约人侍应生面无表情地说道。

“Sir, your meal is served, is there anything else I can do for you?” The covenantor waiter replied without any expression.

    “有，过来，陪我一起用餐。”

“Yes, come here and dine with me.”

    “抱歉，先生，我只负责传菜，不负责陪客。”

“I’m sorry. Sir, I’m only responsible for serving food, not accompanying customers.”

    “没关系，只有你雇主同意就行，我来和他说。”说着便拿出联络器，开始旁若无人地打起电话来。

“It’s okay, as long as your employer agrees. I’ll talk to him.” After saying so, he took out his contact device and began to make a call as if no one else was around.

    侍应生沉默地站在一旁，直到中年人打完电话，并收到雇主的短信，让他今天无条件满足客人的要求，他才稍稍抬起头。用一对无神的眸子，安静地注视着眼前的一切。

The waiter stood by in silence. When the middle-aged man finished his call and the waiter received a text message from his employer, asking him to meet the customer’s request unconditionally today, only then did the waiter raise his head a little. With a pair of emotionless eyes, he quietly gazed at everything in front of him.

    中年人将他拉到自己身边，不顾场合地在他身上摸来摸去，脸上还露出猥琐的笑容。侍应生只是默默忍受着，没有发出一丝声响。

The middle-aged man pulled him to his side and touched him without regard for the location. There was even a nasty smile on his face. The waiter just endured in silence and didn’t make a single sound.

    陆修樊面色阴郁地放下刀叉，拿出联络器，快速向外发送了一串密码。不过多时，几名高大男子走进餐厅，径直来到那名中年人的餐桌前，二话不说架着他就往餐厅外走。

Lu Xiufan gloomily put down his knife and fork, took out his contact device, and quickly sent out a series of codes. A few moments later, several tall men entered the restaurant, came straight to the middle-aged man’s table, and without saying a word, carried him out of the restaurant.

    “你们是谁？想把我带到哪里去？保安，保安！”中年人大喊大叫地被带出了餐厅，中途有保安过来阻拦，结果一看对方出示的证件，立马又退回去了。

“Who are you guys? Where are you taking me? Security, security!” The middle-aged man was taken out of the restaurant as he was screaming. On their way out, a security guard came over to stop them, but immediately withdrew when he saw the document presented by them.

    尚可看了看那名神色木然的守约人侍应生，什么话也没说。

Shang Ke looked at the waiter who had a dull look and didn’t say anything.

    陆修樊安慰道：“他没事了，你不用担心。”至于那名猥琐的中年人，少不得要打断三条腿。

Lu Xiufan reassured, “He’s fine now, don’t worry.” As for the vile middle-aged man, at least three legs will be broken.

    “逃过了这次，还有下次。”尚可淡淡道，“你看到他衣领下的瘀伤了吗？他可能经常受到虐待。”

“Even though he escaped this time, there will be a next time.” Shang Ke said faintly, “Did you see the bruise under his collar? He may have been abused often.”

    守约人因为没有感情，自我保护意识薄弱，就算被折磨至死，也不会为自己感到伤心难过。

Because covenantors  are emotionless and have little sense of self-protection, they would not feel sad for themselves even if they are tortured to death.

    这种不公平的现状，并不是几部法律法规能够改变的，至少几十年内不可能。

This unfair state of things is not something that a few laws and regulations can change, at least not for the next few decades.

    “你打算怎么做？”陆修樊见尚可一脸沉思，忍不住问道。

“What do you intend to do?” Lu Xiufan saw Shang Ke’s contemplating look and couldn’t help but ask.

    “我想……建一所学校。”尚可抬头看向陆修樊，认真道，“一所专属于守约人的学校。”

“I want… to build a school.” Shang Ke looked up at Lu Xiufan and said seriously, “A school that belongs exclusively to the covenantors.”

    最先研发的精神治疗药剂，只是修复守约人的大脑，延长他们的寿命，并不能重塑他们受损的情感元。他们依然习惯按部就班地活着，既然如此，他便制定一部基本行为守则，让所有守约人学会如何保护自己，如何为自己争取权利。

The first psychotherapeutic drugs developed only repaired the brains and prolonged the lives of the covenantors, but did not restore their damaged emotional elements. They were still accustomed to living by the rules. In that case, he created a basic code of conduct so that all of the covenantors would learn how to protect themselves and how to fight for their rights.

    “那就建吧。”只要是尚可想做的事，他都会无条件支持。

    陆修樊对于尚可将建校计划延迟到三年后有些意外，当时并没有多想。直到后来，他偶然在尚可的电脑中发现了一份创业规划，才明白他的心思。

Shang Ke wanted to have enough wealth to protect himself as well as the strength to fight alongside him. Instead of hiding under his protection, as he did now, Shang Ke was always worried that he would become a burden to him.

    “可可，我爱你。”陆修樊决定养成每日一次告白的习惯。

“Keke, I love you.” Lu Xiufan decided to make a habit of confessing once a day.

    尚可昏昏欲睡地趴在床上：可以不要在射完后再告白吗？他完全没力气回应了。唔……也不要在射的时候告白，免得他每次做爱时听到都以为他要射了，然后做好准备等他射结果没射岂不是很尴尬……

    陆修樊没有理会兄长的诉苦，这家伙什么都好，就是懒，不想管事。而且对于他错手杀死尚可的事情，他依然记在心里。虽然不至于迁怒怨恨，却也难以释怀。

Lu Xiufan ignored his brother’s complaint. This guy is good at everything, but was lazy and does not want to be in charge. And he still remembered the fact that he killed Shang Ke by mistake. Although he is not angry and resentful, he is still unable to let it go.

    想到此处，陆修樊不由得心生警惕。不行！他得提醒尚可离陆修齐远点，免得他又突然暴起伤人。谁知道历史会不会重演！那家伙对于尚可而言，绝对是必须严防死守的危险分子！
