These are done out of my own amusement and have nothing to do with the author or main series.
I remember Ling Xiao mentioning he got punished a lot back in his old life for mistakes so~ And because a fly kept trying to take my food.
Omake 1: Flies
Timeframe: Ling Xiao’s First Life
Flies, one of the annoying lifeforms of the world. They appear when there is food, they appear when something smells sweet. Regardless, they appear whenever you don’t want them to.
Ling Xiao tried to subtly swipe at the fly that keeps landing on him while in the presence of the Emperor. He was thankfully hidden in the back so his actions weren’t noticed, but the more he tried to get the fly away, the more it annoyed him.
The Emperor sensed some movement from the corner of his eye and zoomed in on it. A young eunuch, probably very new by some of his awkward actions, was currently fidgeting a lot. A closer look amused him, it was a fly, though rarely seen in the palace, it was still an annoying organism.
If he remembered correctly, this was the eunuch that came with that Mo Qi. There were thousands of servants, and new ones appeared every day, so the Emperor did not pay much attention to them.
Though this one had certainly caught his attention with his attempts to get rid of the annoying pest. He dismissed all the others besides that one who was still attempting to shoo away the pest without noticing everyone else had noticed his actions and were leaving.
Ling Xiao heaved a relief after finally shooing away the pest, but then froze when he found he was the only one in the room… with the Emperor looking amusedly at you.
“You are new.” The Emperor stated with his face propped with his hand. Ling Xiao could only nod, petrified and prayed he wasn’t about to get sent to the chopping block.
“We will allow you to be excused this once. Remember proper palace behavior next time.” and the Emperor dismissed him.
While looking perfectly natural in his walk, Ling Xiao had never speed-walked out of a room so fast in his life.
Although he avoided punishment this time… he didn’t next time.
